Prune
A special companion
Hi there, I’m Prune!
I’m a 74-pound senior lady with a gentle heart and plenty of love to give. Because I landed in the shelter as a stray, people have guessed my age at about 10 years old. While I may be in my golden years, I still enjoy spending time with people and taking life at a comfortable pace. Whether we’re relaxing together, enjoying a leisurely stroll, or simply sharing some quiet company, I’m happiest just being by your side. Senior dogs have so much love to give, and I’m hoping to find a family who will appreciate all the wonderful things that come with adopting one-loyalty, companionship, and countless sweet moments together.
Not long after I arrived here in June, the nice people here noticed something different about my eyes. The vet believes I have something called Pannus, which is a chronic, immune-mediated, progressive ocular condition that will require lifelong medical management. I am receiving eye drops twice a day, and that’s something that should be continued for me for the rest of my days. My adopter should be able to provide veterinary care for me to keep me as healthy and comfortable as possible. A visit to an animal ophthalmologist would be beneficial to me.
While I was at the shelter, I behaved myself around other dogs in the playgroup; I mostly just kept to myself.
I am a lucky girl because I am currently living in a foster home. There’s a kitty here I have made friends with. While this is all very nice, it is not a forever home. I really need to find one. I don’t want to ever lose another home again.
If you think I might be the perfect addition to your family, please submit an adoption application through the Blue Mountain Humane Society. I can’t wait to meet you!”
