Adorable Lily is looking for a rest-of-her-lifelong commitment. Believed to be a Cairn Terrier mix, she weighs 13 pound and is estimated to be about 10 years old.

Lily does not currently live with other dogs but she has in the past.  Lily is described as being well socialized; she attends doggy daycare where she enjoys playing with other nice dogs. She has never lived with or been observed around cats. We are told Lily is cautious when meeting new people but when she gets to know you, she is a fun-loving happy girl.

Because she can be sensitive to sound in her home, we’d suggest a home without young children.

Lily enjoys a daily walk. She has been taught good leash manners and follows some verbal commands. Lily has been clicker trained and has participated in some agility in her day.

While her recall is good now, an adopter should not let her off leash until Lily has settled in and knows to listen.  Newly adopted dogs often become lost because a new owner had been told their recall skills were good. Lily loves to be out in the sun whenever there is an opportunity for that. Her person tell us that a fenced yard would be perfect for Lily. She can manage stairs fine at this time.

This smart girl knows many tricks and if you mention the words “walk, cookie, breakfast or dinner’ she will twirl in circles for you. Lily would be happiest with someone who can keep her active and engaged. She would love to continue to be able to curl up on the couch to watch TV with you and sleep in the bed with her people at night.
Currently Lily’s person is home often but she reports Lily is OK if she needs to stay alone. She can manage quite awhile before she requires a potty break.

We’d bet Lily would do much better adapting to her new home if she had a friendly canine buddy to spend time with. We are told Lily does not bark much unless she sees a squirrel or racoon.

Lily has been a well loved girl, her person has given her regular vet care, including regular care of her teeth. The hope is she will find an adoptive home with someone who will continue with all of that.

It is so important that an adopter be willing and able to commit to the vet care and good quality dog food every dog needs to continue living their best life possible. We think Lily is going to make an amazing new family member!

Lily is located in Bellingham, WA. For contact information please email: referrals@olddoghaven.org

This is a courtesy post. Lily is not an Old Dog Haven dog. We urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
