Lola came to Old Dog Haven at age 12 after her mom, suffering from a debilitating medical condition, was no longer able to take care of her.  The timing of everything worked out perfectly – Lola needed a home, and we were thinking of finally becoming an ODH household – we received one picture of her and knew it was a yes.  She was the best decision we’ve ever made.

Lola requires a lot of expensive medical care due to severe dental disease and a serious heart murmur, but she doesn’t let either of those things stop her from thinking she’s a puppy – one of her favorite activities is zooming around the apartment and launching herself into the air while spinning.
Some of Lola’s other favorite hobbies are:
– giving us very intense and loving headbutts
– waking us up with kisses while excitedly wagging her tail
– afternoon naps in her soft bed
– stalking pieces of popcorn before ultimately throwing them in the air and body slamming them
– rolling on her back for belly rubs while opening her mouth as wide as possible and making tiny noises
– letting us know with a little growl and kick that it’s time to be spoon or hand fed (on her terms only – she has the right to change her mind at any moment)
She’s the sweetest, sassiest, craziest old lady baby and the total center of our lives.  We are so deeply thankful to Old Dog Haven for bringing her into our lives and for every second we get to spend with her.  She’s an absolute joy.
