CUTE CUDDLEBUG ALERT! Meet Senior dog Louie and his friend Chita… Louie is a long hair Chihuahua that is 4 pounds of pure love and his small size means you will have plenty of room on your lap for Chita, a short haired chi. These dear ones recently lost their long time home when a beloved owner’s medical issues forced their separation – the second time this has happened for dear Louie. They are both a bit heartbroken and clearly aching for a new forever home that will love them just as much as their past guardian. The dynamic duo are great with other dogs, cats and people and love taking walks and riding in the car. As a young senior of just about 10 years old, Louis needs daily eye drops for a condition called necrotizing blepharoconjunctivitis, but it looks worse than it is. He had part of the lid removed a few years ago ( the necrotizing part) and his daily requirement is simple artificial tears to keep the eye moist. He also takes a pill to control his epilepsy. 6 pound Chita is in pretty good shape but she does take medication to control the occasional spot of urinary incontinence that is a result of her early days of being used as a backyard breeder. Because they are bonded – and because they have already lost so much – the shelter is hoping to find placement where Louie and Chita they can stay together. This pair need a home with someone who will outlive them, they shouldn’t have to go through being re-homed again. They would be wonderful and joyful companions for modestly active retirees or someone who works from home or part time so they can have plenty of the people time they crave. Because they would like to be the center of attention, no small children please.

Louie and Chita are cross posted for Vashon Island Pet Protectors in Vashon, WA.

These are not ODH dogs; we urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
