“It is said that dogs are a (wo)man’s best friend. I believe this statement to be true: My name is Lucy and there is nothing more I want in this world than to be your companion. I’m a 12-year-old puggle which means that I am part pug and part beagle… but really, I’m all heart. I’m a true lady — gentle, well-mannered, and full of affection. I’d like nothing more than to spend my days by your side.

You may have noticed that I don’t have my eyes anymore. I lost them in January due to glaucoma but have been adjusting very well. When I am indoors, I tend to be very cautious while getting to know a new environment. However, once I am comfortable, I will confidently run through the house and even up and down stairs, especially if it means I can be near you. I will do best in a quiet, calm household. I don’t mind other dogs per se; however, as I am still getting used to being blind, I think I would prefer to be your one and only. I enjoy the attention of children, as long as they are gentle with me. Overall, I am a very healthy girl. People often stop me on the street to compliment my shiny coat and my soft ears.

You should know that I am a woman who loves two things fiercely: naps and walks. You see, when I am indoors, I just want to find the place closest to you and cuddle with you. I could snooze all day if I could do so next to you! But I also love walks and run to the door at the sound of my leash. I just adore the outdoors! You may be surprised to see how energetic and adventurous I am on my walks! My tail will always up and wagging as I explore the world with you.

If you welcome me into your family, I promise to be a faithful friend, to sleep by the door until you come home each day, and to always curl up next to you.”
