Check out Rusty! He is an 8 year old yellow lab. Rusty is a big boy at 89 pounds. Rusty could use an adopter who will help him lose some weight through diet and gentle exercise. This friendly boy gets along with big dogs, like himself. We are told he doesn’t seem to like small dogs or cats. Rusty is good with children but because he has a bad habit of jumping up on people in excitement, it’s recommended he not go to a home with young children he could accidentally hurt in his exuberance.

Rusty is dog door trained and fine to stay alone in the house when necessary. He can do stairs and would probably enjoy getting to go for daily walks but he’s strong and needs a harness used to stop him from pulling. If Rusty sees a cat while he’s on leash, he WILL try to chase it!  His adopter needs to be able to manage his strength and work with him on his leash manners. We are told Rusty is not a barky dog,

Rusty is described as being “very loving”;  a dog who loves to be around people and loves attention. He sure sounds like a really nice dog!  Rusty is ready for a committed, adoptive, forever home.

Rusty is posted for his caregivers in Tacoma, WA. For more information please email: referrals@olddoghaven.org

This is not an ODH dog; we urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
