Sage was another “stray” who found herself in a big shelter. She’d not been spayed and had several mammary tumors, as so often happens with unspayed older females. Her wonderful gentle personality charmed the shelter volunteer who works with ODH so Sage made a long trip to a Final Refuge home that loves the breed and mastiffs. She spent 7 months being loved, enjoying the property and especially the company of her mastiff heart-throb, but also struggling with chronic bladder infections. Her vet found metastasis in her lungs from the breast cancer so we knew her time would be limited but Sage took every advantage of those months. When she started to struggle her ODH family sent her gently on her way. In her memory we remind you how important it is to spay and neuter your pets!
