Sarang

14.5 year old Sarang joined Old Dog Haven after she was found stray in the snow. Her microchip revealed her name and birthday, but no owner came forward. She was placed in an Old Dog Haven home, but had a personality conflict with another dog, and was transferred to her forever Old Dog Haven home where she fit right in.

Sarang settled very quickly into her new family. She clearly loves being an inside dog – her favorite places are her bed in the home office, and the sofa. She’s a small dog with a big personality – she does sassy barks if dinner isn’t served on time or if she’s been in the yard for too long. She loves snuggling, giving kisses, treats, and napping. She thinks one of the resident cats is her baby, and will try and clean her whenever she can find her (rarely!).

When Sarang came to Old Dog Haven she was in poor condition with ear infections, no eye care, a matted coat, and no recent vet care. Sarang’s comprehensive Old Dog Haven Veterinary intake made her feel much more comfortable. Sarang is completely blind, but can navigate her home with ease. She has all of her veterinary care covered by Old Dog Haven. She has recently had a hospital admission for an autoimmune blood disorder (ITP) but is recovering well with excellent vet care. While hospitalized for 4 days she made it clear to staff she was a lap dog, and managed to convince them to take her out of her crate every night for cuddles.

A doggy DNA test suggests Sarang is a Shih Tzu – Lhasa Apso – Chi mix. She definitely has a big fluffy tail and plenty of attitude.

Sarang will stay with her Old Dog Haven family – her human parents and 10 year old human brother, Old Dog Haven Bruiser, resident dog Ranger and 2 cats – for the rest of her days. She is very much loved.
