Seyonne (pronounced “say own”) is home! If ever there was a dog that is NOT defined by her physical issues it would be Seyonne. This adorable little 15+ year-old is a train wreck when it comes to physical health, but still she smiles, wags her tail, is confident, and easy-going.

Yes, she has a large mammary tumor hanging from her chest (so big it almost touches the ground), she has a grade three heart murmur, an ulcer on the cornea of her right eye,  terrible teeth, Cushing’s Disease, and she hasn’t been spayed.  Thanks to ODH all of these issues will be dealt with very soon, and hopefully this little warrior will feel better once surgery is a thing in the past and she’s taking medication for the Cushing’s.

We know Seyonne must be uncomfortable, at the very least, but she’s not interested in feeling pain. She’s more about food, a comfortable bed or lap, and food. Did I mention food? Seyonne was picked up as a stray by a Good Samaritan and brought to a shelter, and we think that comfort and regular meals were not a part of her past for a very long time. No worries. She now lives with people who love her and other dogs that have quickly learned that her expectation is that she be treated as the boss.

Seyonne tells us that she’s grateful to be with us, and we feel the same way. We look forward to sharing Seyonne’s life for a long time.

Update:  After four months of amazing determination, our little warrior has gone on to her next expression of spirit. She improved a bit after the massive mammary mass was removed and she had a dental (all thanks to ODH) but the cancer had spread everywhere and her body just couldn’t fight it any longer. Our respect, love and thanks goes out to this brave little dog, and we feel very fortunate that she was able to spend as much time with us as she did. Seyonne’s lesson?   Spay your dog!
