Weechee was found abandoned in an isolated area in a crate. It was true luck that he was discovered. No one is sure how long he was there, but because he was found, Weechee was taken to the local shelter and from there, his life took a turn for the better.

Not long after he entered the shelter, Weechee had a seizure. Old Dog Haven was asked to find a home for him. Weechee needed to get out of the stressful shelter ASAP. Weechee joined a group of Old Dog Haven dogs where he fit right in. Unfortunately, his seizure activity ramped up. It is quite possible that Weechee had been having seizures all along, and that is why he was dumped.  A neurologist was consulted, and multiple medications were tried with Weechee. Thankfully, a combination of two medications has finally stopped the seizures. The hope is that he will remain seizure-free from here on out. He will remain on seizure medications for life with regular blood work monitoring because of the medications he needs to take to control his seizures. Weechee has put on the weight that he needed, and he is being treated for dry eye. Weechee’s veterinary care and medications are provided for him because of donations to Old Dog Haven.

Weechee is enjoying his new life! He loves going for walks, running in the yard, and cuddling on the couch with his family at night. Weechee is a happy, silly boy who is adored.

Update: Unfortunately, little Weechee has a seizure he could not recover from, and his foster family had to say goodbye. It is a very sad day for everyone.
