Meet Wiggums!

This adorable 14-year-old Chiweenie has settled into his new forever home extremely well. Despite his age, he loves to go on walks, has the cutest little prance, and has a lot of pep in his step. He has done well with other dogs and seems to love to play! His hobbies include: burrowing himself in blankets, snuggling with his new mom, and butt scritches. He is a very sweet boy and ultimately just wants to be close to his people.

Wiggums came to Old Dog Haven as a cryptorchid intact male and needed to be neutered quickly. Unfortunately, his surgery did reveal two malignant tumors on his ascended testicle. Luckily, the X-rays showed no signs of the cancer spreading, so we will continue to monitor his condition as well as keeping an eye on his early signs of kidney disease and IVDD.

Thankfully, he came to ODH when he did and the tumors were discovered early, which is an important reminder of why it is so important to spay and neuter your pets to prevent overpopulation and future cancers. We are extremely grateful for Old Dog Haven and its donors and supporters who help provide the resources to help senior dogs like Wiggums. Now that his medical issues are under control, we can look forward to the many adventures and memories to come.
