Willy
All settled in and thriving
Please note: The dogs in ODH's Final Refuge care are not adoptable due to medical reasons and all are in permanent homes. Your sponsorship supports the veterinary expenses for these dogs - and we thank you!
Willy is our dear 13 year old shih tzu/ long dachsund (your guess as good as mine). He was initially rescued by someone that could not keep him and Old Dog Haven was able to step in. We were very pleasd to welcome him into our home. When Willy arrived, he had so much hair he could hardly see and it was a good surprise to discover that underneath all that hair is a very handsome pup!
Willy gently started making himself known. He loves following our hairy bunch around our big yard. Limited in sight and hearing, he still knows where the dog pads are. With much hind end weakness and neck disc issues, medications and vet exams have helped considerably. Without meds, Willy could only drag his backend paws. Thank goodness for ODH for being there to cover what he needs.
He loves to snuggle up with ‘Dad’. Willy eats like it’s going out of style (we call him Baby Shark). And when he’s headed for bed, it’s lights out!
No matter how long or short a time we have, our Willy is safe and deeply loved for the rest of his life.
