“Howdy! My name’s Wyatt and I am looking for a new family. They call me a mixed breed dog. Could be I am part heeler, some beagle, mixed with your guess is as good as mine! I weigh about 27 pounds and since I was a rescue adopted from a shelter with no history known, the vet guesses my age to be between 9 and 10 years old.

“I consider myself a real nice fella. I like other dogs who are nice to me. I will chase cats so for their sake I shouldn’t live with one. What I don’t like are young kids or people that come up on me and surprise me. I need a quiet, calm and predictable home. This doesn’t mean I don’t need exercise! I do, I LOVE to run and go for walks. I will pull on leash, I need someone to work with me on that. Being outside is great fun so if you are the adventurous type, I would love to join you!

“While you are out of the house, I can stay alone just fine. I will hang out on your couch and keep it warm. Right now I stay home with a small dog and we keep each other company so I’m hoping I’ll find a home with another friend to buddy up to. I can “hold it” for a long time if I have to but who wants to do that all of the time? If I had my choice, I’d find a home with someone who will let me sleep in the bed with them at night. I don’t have to but if I’m being honest, that’s what I would really like!

“I don’t like fireworks or thunderstorms. My people will tell you about the medicine they give me when they know a storm or fireworks are coming. I don’t appreciate having my feet touched or nails trimmed but I know that needs to be done sometimes, I just need someone who knows how to manage this. Some training could be helpful to me, I’d bet!

“My people will tell you what a great dog I am. I’m cuddly and friendly. But it’s time for me to move on, I can no longer live with their small child who scares me. They will hate to see me go but I will be happier in a home without kids. So if you’re childless and need a companion, please consider me!”
